UK June Claimant Count In Biggest Rise Since 92

Forex News: The UK claimant count rose 15,500 in June, the biggest climb since December 1992, while the jobless rate was 2.6%, steady from the upwardly revised May figure, the Office for National Statistics says. The market expected +10,000 and a rise in jobless rate to 2.6%, according to a Dow Jones Newswires survey of economists. The May claimant count was revised up to an increase of 14,300 from the 9,000 originally reported. Average earnings excluding bonuses was +3.8% in the three months to May from a year earlier, down from +3.9% in three months to April.
