Forex News: Bank of Thailand won't raise its benchmark interest rate aggressively after hiking by 25 bps to 3.5% today, says SCB Securities senior economist Pornthep Jubandhu; expects central bank to raise rate by 25 bps at each of next 2 MPC meetings in August, October, then keep rate unchanged at December meeting. "The BOT is not going to aggressively raise the policy rate as it is also concerned about economic growth." Adds inflation should slow by December as rate hikes will curb THB weakness, reduce inflationary impact of high oil prices.
