Forex News: French inflation, which in June accelerated to a yearly level of 3.6%, is likely to peak in a couple of months from now, says Carlos Caceres of Morgan Stanley. "Pressures emanating from the energy component are still present." Adds "headline inflation is likely to rise throughout the summer, peaking around September and then easing progressively on the back of strong negative base effects." Crude oil prices averaged $140.8/barrel in the first 15 days of July, versus $132.8/bbl in June. "This is likely to be reflected in the price of petrol products within the next couple of weeks," he says.
