Forex News In a volatile session, the dollar rallied sharply Thurs vs the yen but exited active trading down slightly against the euro. The greenback benefitted from the advance for US stocks and retreat in oil prices. At one point, the greenback regained Y107 briefly, while the euro dipped below $1.58, but USD couldn't hold those lofty levels for long. Late afternoon. EUR/USD was at 1.5833, up from a recent intraday bottom at 1.5782 and from 1.5818 late Weds. USD/JPY was at 106.69, down from its peak for the day at 107.11 but up from 105.17 late Weds.
